You are what you Eat

This week we embark on a new series entitled “Summer of Healing”. No matter where you've been, or what you've gone through, there is freedom from hurt through Christ Jesus.

Pastor Levi Marychurch begins with emphasis that your past can feed your present soul with the types of "clothing" (mindsets) you choose to feed yourselves with; past hurts, present pains, future worries, etc.. With a metaphorically coloured array of vegetables and animals, Levi explains that the starting process of healing is the breaking of old thinking patterns and the willingness to embrace a new fresh feed from God!

Join us as Jadyn Duff shares from 1 Samuel 18, 19, and 22 to encourage us to build others up by being a better teammate.

Jadyn highlights the importance of removing pride and ego to enable us grow together in faith. Urging us against Saul's mistakes in 1 Samuel, Jadyn encourages us to identify the spear of pride and not to fear the smell of our actions. He closes reminding us that there is power in testimony.

Bricks are Really Close

Join us as we conclude the series entitled “A Life that Builds” – our role as living stones. Pastor Levi Marychurch draws from Genesis 1 to highlight that we share the common language of building our community, and he explores what it means to build a spiritual house together wherever we go.

Levi explores the simple illustration that buildings are constructed with bricks being really close together, in which God uses to describe our purpose in community and family. He paints a more detailed picture to show how to live out three key characteristics of our common speech: encouragement, positivity, and kindness.

71 Kilometers

In this second part of the series entitled "A Life that Builds", Pastor Levi Marychurch takes us through a journey of what it truly means to fully live in the service of others. He calls on us to fulfill needs in meaningful ways - more than just identifying them. Both inside and outside the church, the sacrifices of many pooling their gifts and talents is what it takes to walk 71 kilometers, with the inspiration from Saul in 1 Samuel.

 

Following the lead of Saul going 71 kilometers in faith to serve his father, Levi urges us to responding to needs by building a church that understands the value of service, goes out and serve, and identifies our niches to better serve. Together as teams we can achieve the great mission of going 71 kilometers for others by making the best out of what we have, with the best service.

The Great Oxymoron

Join us as we enter a new series called “A Life that Builds”, where Pastor Levi Marychurch starts by explaining the pivotal role of the living stone (one of the many oxymorons found in the Bible) for building community, with Jesus being our cornerstone.

Levi emphasizes the living stone as the source of life we can use to build our lives, one another's lives, and the Church. By intertwining these three, God desires us to make us living stones to form His building, in which we embody the Church. What a special privilege it is to be chosen by God to build his kingdom on earth by sharing the foundation with Jesus, where no darkness can keep it from rising.

Picture a supernatural power that can make you invincible - it's real and alive, it's the Holy Spirit! Pastor Levi Marychurch completes the series on the Early Church with a colourful analogy of an Incan Mask from a popular 90's video game called Crash Bandicoot to demonstrate the impact of the Holy Spirit - speedy, unstoppable, and on another level.

Levi gets real by addressing the common challenges of connecting with the Holy Spirit, and helps us overcome them by reassuring that it is easy to access, it is freely given to you as a gift, and it wants to be simple with you. It is not a mystery: God's Presence is real and he simply wants to empower you through the Holy Spirit today.

There is freedom and love to be found where the Holy Spirit is. Pastor Nadia Marychurch teaches us what it means to work with what our Father gave us - spiritual gifts to empower us to lead fruitful lives to build others up in the Kingdom. She shares her story of meeting the Holy Spirit and how it has impacted her in ways which can help you be a representative of Christ to help carry out God's love daily.

Three important categories of spiritual gifts are highlighted: ministry, motivational, and manifestation. We come together stronger as a church when we activate these varied gifts together to build a colourful mosaic to better serve our community with the power of the Holy Spirit working within us.

Lessons from the Early Church

Put yourself in the place of one of the disciples. You’re witness to the most remarkable period in human history. You’ve seen miracles performed, lives changed, and eternities impacted. Then, Jesus leaves. Immediately after, the disciples did something remarkable – they prayed. Jesus left them with a unifying goal – to reach people and to build the Church.

Pastor Levi Marychurch teaches on the early church from the book of Acts and shares three truths common to the early Church that are every bit as true today. First, the disciples were together – often. They stuck together, no matter the difficulty or danger. Second, they prayed. Prayer was fundamental to the early Church and it was birthed in prayer. Lastly, the disciples were patient. But, patience doesn’t mean they were idle. They were active, they were urgent, they were desperate, but most importantly, they were compelled.

Logging onto the WIFI

It’s the modern day “all-in” to guests invited to your home…more than mere shelter, or the gift of food…it’s a bold statement of unlimited access – feel free to hop onto my wifi. Pastor Levi Marychurch teaches from John 1 where Jesus invites two of John’s followers into his life. Jesus didn’t hint that John’s followers were welcome, Jesus answered boldly with five powerful words, “Come, and you will see.”
