We all have milestones we cherish and one of the pivotal points in history of the Church was found in Acts 2 which would shape the rest of our future and generations to come.

Take a moment to go back in time and see how it can impact your perspective on today's chapter of your spiritual walk. Your past can teach you more than you can ever imagine.

Put yourself in the place of one of the disciples. You’re witness to the most remarkable period in human history. You’ve seen miracles performed, lives changed, and eternities impacted. Then, Jesus leaves. Immediately after, the disciples did something remarkable – they prayed. Jesus left them with a unifying goal – to reach people and to build the Church.

Pastor Levi Marychurch teaches on the early church from the book of Acts and shares three truths common to the early Church that are every bit as true today. First, the disciples were together – often. They stuck together, no matter the difficulty or danger. Second, they prayed. Prayer was fundamental to the early Church and it was birthed in prayer. Lastly, the disciples were patient. But, patience doesn’t mean they were idle. They were active, they were urgent, they were desperate, but most importantly, they were compelled.

It’s the modern day “all-in” to guests invited to your home…more than mere shelter, or the gift of food…it’s a bold statement of unlimited access – feel free to hop onto my wifi. Pastor Levi Marychurch teaches from John 1 where Jesus invites two of John’s followers into his life. Jesus didn’t hint that John’s followers were welcome, Jesus answered boldly with five powerful words, “Come, and you will see.”

It’s with this spirit of invitation and inclusion that Liberté City is launched. A community of connected people with a shared vision – a church built on relationships and centered around Jesus.

Pastor Jim Pot, minister from Ottawa’s Knox Presbyterian, teaches the fundamentals of being “Easter People”. Jim walks us through the complete Easter story from Matthew 28 and describes Easter people as people of hope, honour, and wholeness.

We’re to be a hopeful people for what’s to come, and what might be; not fearful of the world around us. We’re to be an honourable people, that lay ourselves bare for Christ. And lastly, we’re to be holistic people, whereas Jesus is an all-encompassing influence in every part of our lives.

Pastor Levi Marychurch follows Liberté City’s child dedication with a message reminding us of the importance of our own dedication to God in two forms. First, through salvation, then continually, through sanctification.

Levi reminds us of the importance of dedication by four main themes. First, dedication is essential in any relationship. Being dedicated helps craft and build the future that we want. Being dedicated to Christ bears fruit in our own lives. And lastly, Christ asks for dedication because he first gave it himself.

Pastor Levi Marychurch teaches from Judges 7, where Gideon defeats the Midianites with God-inspired military strategy. Gideon equipped his army against the Midianites with a trio of unusual items: a jar, a torch of fire, and a trumpet. It’s easy to complain we’re ill-equipped for modern day battles, but like Gideon, God provides exactly what we need.

God allows us to partner with him in much the same way: we are the jar, the Lord is the fire, and the trumpet is our declaration. God's job is to be the fire and our job is to be the trumpet. So keep talking, keep declaring, and keep trumpeting the good news of the Gospel!

Dalyn teaches from Romans 8, and highlights a few simple things that can help us through the toughest seasons. No matter your circumstances, no matter what you’ve done or what you believe, God is right there beside you. He is holding your hand, cheering you on, and loving you unconditionally.

What does love look like? Can you see it? How about your faith? Can others see it? More importantly, can God? A young couple in love is easy to see – it’s obvious. Our love for Christ should be no different; you can tell a person in love by their actions. We can’t be good at just people, we need to be a people that are good at God!

Join us as Pastor Levi Marychurch highlights the foundations of “The why behind the what.”. They are: treating God like he is in the room, treating Christ like he died on the cross, and treating Christ as the one seated at the right hand of God.

Sam Smith teaches from Mark 2, in which a paralyzed man’s friends lower him through a roof because it was the only way they could get him past the crowds and in front of Jesus. What’s stopping us from doing the same? Maybe we don’t have a paralyzed friend we need to bring to Jesus, but we all have some paralysis in our lives that we need to bring before him.

Jesus was the answer – and his friends knew it! More than that, they knew that sometimes you have to do more than just show up. Lastly, they knew they had to give him to God.
